Coaching as a conscious personal choice of the client
What are the reasons to use coaching in your life and respect it?
Coaching is eco-friendly
If a coaching session is conducted according to Erickson’s canons, and not according to some other unknown methods, then coaching cannot be harmed, and therefore any session will be useful. And even if a person is unable to achieve what he planned within the framework of coaching, after a while he can find answers to his questions.
Coaching has a positive effect on a person
Avoidance tactics are often common to many —people think in terms of what they don’t want, what possible events they don’t like, and what they don’t like. Instead, it is much more productive to direct the thought in a different direction, on the contrary — what you want, what you like, how it can be achieved. Coaching works with people’s attitudes like this, changing them from negative to positive, removing the emphasis from “no” and “I don’t want to” to “I want to” and “how to achieve it.”
Coaching focuses on the future
It’s so easy to live in the past, to get caught up in its nets, that sometimes we don’t even notice it. Endless glances at past experience, excessive analysis of it, and consequently, projecting the past onto the present — all this only slows down our development as a person and prevents us from enjoying life. Coaching puts the question differently — “Okay, you have a problem, but how do you want it to be?”, “How do you see yourself when your issues are resolved?”, “What will you do for this?”. Coaching is about dealing with the future. And thanks to such questions, a person understands how he needs to act now in order to achieve results. And it can’t help but motivate.
Coaching is pushing the boundaries
People, especially in Russia, are afraid to dream. People often laugh at a person when he says that he wants to become someone or achieve something that in the eyes of most people seems impossible or difficult, just because they themselves are not capable of it. And the most annoying thing is that such an attitude can extinguish in a person this flame of dreams and passion for their work. Therefore, it is incredibly important to dream, do and not be afraid no matter what. It has long been known that by dreaming about more and doing everything possible for it, we achieve much more (even if we did not become who we wanted to be) than if we dreamed and did more modestly, within the limits of what is “possible” for us. To do this, to expand the boundaries, there are exercises in coaching that teach people to dream, no matter how naive it may sound. After all, some still don’t know how. And dreaming is not just not harmful, but also useful, because when your mind is open, and you do not block any opportunities for yourself and are ready to go to your goal, who knows what you can achieve in this life.
Coaching brings teams together
In addition to all the “individual” advantages of coaching, it also works great for teams — it helps to identify common values and create a goal and mission for the team. Then people begin to feel more involved in the company and become capable of much more than before.
Coaching helps you get started
Despite the fact that coaching works on a person’s inner world, action is a necessary and final step. There is no point in imagining and creating the desired self in the future, making a wish map, if you end up sitting and waiting. Life doesn’t change by itself, you have to do something. Coaching helps you understand yourself and understand what needs to be done to achieve your goals. And your task is to bring this to life, and for this you need actions. Start with small steps, but act right away.
