What does a career management mean?

It is commonly believed that a corporate culture is not only the one, which is based on impeccable, from the moral point of view, principles and values, but, first and foremost, then one, each element of which really works as a tool for flexible staff management. Besides, it advantages capitalization of nonmaterial assets of the company, image rise and support of business reputation. From this point of view, the fundamental aspects of corporate culture are taught in modern Russian universities not correctly as of today, and not practically, off the mark. So, for example, that is the case with interpretation of corporate culture artefacts.

Career – is strictly individual instrument, with the use of which not everyone could be motivated. Career is built on solutions; you have to be responsible for.  You will have to accept refusals, undergo punishment, overcome circumstances and yourself. That is why far not everyone are ready to start this path up, fraught with expenses and loses. Percentage of employed, consciously avoiding career fever, is even more than those, who deliberately destines himself of internal and external strain for the sake of postponed and not guaranteed for one hundred per cent goal. Especially now, when values of easy profit, quick money and downshifting are becoming popular.    

But if the decision about career development has been taken, then it is worth to be armed withеф some rules.  

  • You should manage your career, but not vice versa: if career demands to give up what is really valuable for you, then it is not worth it. There is no need at all in conflict with yourself.  
  • Career management is a process, but not a separate event. And this process presupposes long-lasting investments into yourself as into your personnel business-project.  
  • It is better to make a career, basing on what you really like doing and what you are the best one at. It is necessary to know yourself well, to know the diapason of your personnel acceptability in order to plan your career, and it presupposes high level of life consciousness.  
  • Career management presupposes planned move to the goal through resolution of a task system. Passing every stage should provide access to the next one.
  • Career goals setting should follow the same rules, as goal setting in business. The most important is that career goals are realistic and correspond to resourcing possibilities, which does not contradict the perspective to broaden the resourcing base of development.  
  • At each stage career management presupposes control and evaluation of intermediate results. Unmanageable life would less likely correspond to a career project.
  • The main drivers of a career growth: rational thinking and strict calculation, motivation for achievement a definite goal, imitativeness, creativity, ability to cope with stress.
