How differences between Russian and Western set of minds do show themselves?

During the last two decades coaching recommended itself as a way to solve many problems almost in all spheres of life, beginning with a personnel development and finishing up with professional growth. However, in spite of the fact that this practice glued to our country, attitude to it is still too much different from a foreign one. And here in it is not because it appeared later then in the West, but that Russian people have own peculiarities of perception. It does not obligatory mean that they are wrong, but they do not help to perceive coaching for sure.

In Russia not many people have attitude to their career and business as to personnel growth or a game and competition. Quite often the common opinion is that work is a must and boring routine. In other words, a burden which you need to bear until you are alive. In vindication of it, however, a lot of external reasons could be given, which do not depend on people themselves, but that is an absolutely different story. In the West for a long time there have been enthusiasm about personnel effectiveness, which is close to religion by its force. `people understand perfectly their responsibility for their lives, career and the results of their efforts. They percept it as a game, a challenge, have a passion for their labor. In USA work has always been sacramental. A famous “American dream” is a proof that everyone could achieve all he needs if he works hard.

Of course, differences in mentality of two different nations are not removed with a finger snap. Not during a year, nor ten years, nor fifty years. The differences will still be there as they could not disappear. The problem is not only in people, but also in peculiarities of their surroundings, in the country itself. There is also good news- it is possible to change. To have a different look at your life and career- that is real. Not all at the same time, but those, who would want it and would see strictly benefit from it.

If we look at life as at a game, and to look at your work and career as at competition of a marathon, then it would substantially ease your route and would give healthy rhythm for effective labor and interesting life.
