How to remove barriers that prevent you from achieving your goals?

25.05.2021

We all want to be happy and successful, have an eventful life and be versatile people who can do various interesting things. We dream, study, read, make plans and write wishlists. But, unfortunately, only a few of us achieve what we wanted. And the point is not even that few achieve success, but that few initially find the strength to go to it. On their way, there are always obstacles that prevent them from realizing their ideas, be it a lack of time, willpower, or any other problems.

And then the question arises – how to cope with all this turmoil? How can we get rid of these barriers that prevent us from developing? How do you finally get started?

1) The first thing to do is get off the couch, metaphorically or realistically. It’s simple, and there is nothing new here, but, nevertheless, not everyone finds the strength for this. Nowadays, people live with the following attitude – “I am a professional in such and such an area, give me a job, and I will prove myself.” And the whole problem lies in the word “give”. The conditional Elon Musk will not call you on your mobile and offer you a job until you yourself start doing something for this. And this applies not only to employment.

2) It also hinders us that we are constantly putting things off. “Starting next Monday, I’ll start training,” “From the tenth, I’ll start calling for vacancies,” “From the new year, I’ll start eating healthy food” – remember the last time you said such things to yourself? Now look how much of this you’ve done. Hardly a lot, if anything.

The secret here is to do what was conceived right away. Just like you step into cold water on a lake – one, two, three and dive! But do not forget about rest, it is still important. It is believed that having a rest, scrolling the news feed or watching TV is not very useful, since it does not set you in the working mood, but it is better to take a walk or read a book, but, let’s be honest, hardly anyone will make a choice in favor of the latter. ways of spending time. At least right away. Therefore, at least start doing something as soon as you decide to do it. And then it will be easier.

Often people read such articles and think – “Yes, this, of course, everything is great, but I have a completely different situation.” Really? Count how much time per day you spend on social media and other types of procrastination. And even the result is unlikely to surprise you, because deep down you know it yourself.

3) And the truth is that it takes a very decent amount of time. And you will never get out of this vicious circle if you do not begin to use correctly all the seconds, minutes and hours at your disposal.

If you take a little time to put together a long-term plan and your schedule, then in the long run they will be of great service to you and will save you a lot of time. Ideally, of course, it would still be nice to plan things for each day, but you can start with at least more general plans.

4) The next problem is the people around you. Oddly enough, the environment of a person is of great importance for his inner moral state, and therefore, strongly influences whether he will achieve his goals. Agree, it is difficult to achieve something when people from your close circle of friends think you are stupid and narrow-minded. In this case, it is worth protecting yourself from communicating with such people, “throwing” them out of your life. And instead, find people who are close to you in spirit, who have achieved or are achieving what you yourself would like to achieve.

5) Public opinion too, and as a rule, can be disastrous. Therefore, you should not listen to him either. After all, there are still those who consider unmarried 30-year-old girls to be losers or feel sorry for men without children and family, although all this is the choice of the person himself, and there cannot be “this is bad” or “this is good”. Paying attention to the generally accepted “norm” is to do worse only to yourself. Don’t let people influence your progress towards your goal. And this requires confidence in yourself and that you are doing the right thing.

6) Confidence is also necessary in order to start acting in general. We often feel sorry for ourselves, lament about something, we are not confident in our strengths, we have a bunch of complexes, and all this absorbs us and sucks us deeper into the quagmire of hopelessness, full of paralyzing and hopeless fear. But fear itself is an abstraction. In other words, we are afraid of what does not exist, what has not yet happened and what may never happen. The fear of change and the unknown, the fear of failure and failure – all this is just in your head.

Don’t put yourself in a negative mood and try to do something. Even if you do not succeed at first, sooner or later perseverance and the right attitude will take their toll.

7) Laziness is a lack of motivation. Motivation is lack of purpose or understanding. After a certain age, somewhere closer to thirty, a person often seems to have everything he needs – a family, a stable salary, and the person stops there. Then, of course, it’s up to you to decide whether you want something more or if everything suits you. If you want, set yourself new goals, keep striving for something.

8) But before continuing on your way, understand the significance for you of this new goal. If, having imagined it, you do not feel a surge of vivid emotions, then perhaps this is not your goal. What would you like? And for what? Think about it. Because if you do not “burn” with the dream you have chosen, you will hardly be able to fulfill it.
