What kind of a manager am I: questions for self-check?

23.07.2020

There is a good phrase, which has become even a slogan for somebody. Employees have the right for a good chief, who is smart, humane, trustworthy, fair, responsible, objective. That is about the situation when “you go to work as to a celebration”. That is about professionalism. And now, dear managers, let’s ask yourselves: what are you being the first person of the company?

Modern leadership- both how it is taught and how it works on practice – is tied, also, with a feedback. Are you sure, that you know what your employees think about you, your subordinators? Among modern “tops” the more often appear those, who stopped be fed with soft sawder and learns how to digest critics constructively. It gives hope.

But self-control is not less important, as well as self-control, self-esteem, ability to test yourself on a regular basic. That is about consciousness in profession and in status. The following questions, inspired by one of the legends of modern business and management – Richardson Branson, could be very helpful for meditation on the topic “what kind of manager am I”:

  • Are you sure that your employees meet Monday morning without horror?
  • What do you say more often: “yes” or “no”?
  • How often do you delegate your responsibilities, how easily and calmly do you do it?
  • What do you notice more often in people: good or bad?
  • How do you evaluate your belief in people, in which rate- five- ten score scale?
  • Are you able and do you bent to give to a person a second chance?
  • Do you consider life as a non-stoppable process of learning?
